Summary

An archaeological evaluation (2014) and a watching brief (2015) were both carried out in advance of the construction of new almshouses. A single medieval boundary ditch was found that suggested a 11th or 12th century field system. Post medieval rubbish pits and a possible quarry were also found.

Full Description

In 2014 an archaeological evaluation was carried out in advance of the construction of new almshouses. A single medieval boundary ditch was found that suggested a 11th or 12th century field system. Post medieval rubbish pits and a possible quarry were also found. (1, 2)
