Summary

Roman activity in the form of a field system, boundary ditches, hollows, pits was identified during 2014 excavations at Molehill Solar Farm, Canterbury. An evaluation and an excavation were carried out at the site which uncovered evidence for settlement and agricultural activity during this period. Roman activity at the site followed a period of settlement spanning the Bronze Age to the early Iron Ages; it is thought that the site was abandoned for around 650 years before being resettled during the Roman period.
