Summary

A post-medieval farm house or agricultural cottage with possible medieval origins was identified during 2014 excavations at Molehill Solar Farm, Canterbury. The building contained material largely dating to 1600-1700 AD, suggesting a post-medieval date, however, potsherds dating to 1250-1550 AD were identified within occupation deposits, suggesting that the structure may have originated during the medieval period.

Full Description

A post-medieval farm house or agricultural cottage with possible medieval origins was identified during 2014 excavations at Molehill Solar Farm, Canterbury. The building contained material largely dating to 1600-1700 AD, suggesting a post-medieval date, however, potsherds dating to 1250-1550 AD were identified within occupation deposits, suggesting that the structure may have originated during the medieval period.
