Summary

A linear or pit feature containing a single fragment of medieval ceramic building material was identified during a watching brief carried out at 130 High Street, Edenbridge in 2022. Both an earlier evaluation at the site and the watching brief also identified medieval artefacts including pottery and ceramic building material at the site.

Full Description

A medieval linear or pit feature was identified during a watching brief carried out at 130 High Street, Edenbridge in 2022. Both an earlier evaluation at the site and the watching brief also identified medieval artefacts including pottery and ceramic building material at the site. The feature is tentatively interpreted (1) as a possible drainage ditch due to similarities between this feature and former medieval drainage ditches to the north of the site (TQ 44 NW 55). (1)
