Full Description
A medieval four post structure, possibly a granary, and field gullies were identified during an evaluation carried out at Rook Lane, Keycol Hill in 2022 by Swale and Thames Archaeological Survey Company. These features were located to the north of the proposed development area, with several undated and possible medieval features also located towards the centre of the site. Furthermore, a hollow way dated to the post-medieval or modern period may have had its origins in the medieval period as a trackway or ditch feature. Finds associated with this phase of occupation included a small number of pottery sherds dating from around 1175 - 1250 AD and several fragments of oyster shell. (1)
