Full Description

Two undated probable quarry pits were identified during a 2021 evaluation and 2022 excavation. The pits measured 5-11.75m in length by 4-10m in width and 0.9-1.2m+ in depth. These features may have been dug for chalk or flint extraction.

Other possible quarry pits were originally identified during the 2021 evaluation, however, later excavation revealed that these were natural features.
A number of undated features were also identified during the evaluation including ditches, pits, linear features, a post-hole, and gullies. (1, 2)
