Full Description
An undated possible moated enclosure was identified at Kingsnorth Wood, Ulcombe during a site visit and an augering survey carried out in 1994. The possible enclosure comprised two L-shaped section of moat broken by what appears to be an entranceway. The eastern side of the enclosure measured around 58m in length, with a 9m entranceway located at around the half way point. The western sides measured around 33m externally. When recorded in May 1994, the northern section of the moat measured around 8m in width and was filled with water. The southern section of moat no longer appears to hold water.
