Full Description
During excavations on land at Manston Road (Phase 1b) part of a Late Iron age/ Early Roman field system was uncovered. This period is evident mostly in Area F located to the east from present day Ozengell Grange. Roman boundaries were found running parallel and perpendicularly to Ozengell estate and were subsequently followed by medieval successions. One shallow sunken-floored building was exposed in Area B at northern extent of Phase 1B. A Late Iron Age SFB with adjacent inhumation and scatter of pits were alos located in excavation area F.
