Monument record TQ 77 NW 1344 - Second World War bomb crater, Cliffe
Summary
A Second World War bomb crater visible as an earthwork within a large low-lying field. First seen on RAF aerial photographs taken in 1947, and still visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs taken in 1953. Google Earth images from 2007 show the site destroyed or obscured by aggregates workings and spoil. This is one of 5 probable bomb craters extending in an east-west line, probably part of the same bombing raid. These were mapped from aerial photographs as part of the English Heritage: Hoo Peninsula Landscape Project.
