Summary

A probable Second World War bomb crater visible as an earthwork within a large low-lying field in Cliffe Marshes. This was seen on RAF aerial photographs taken in 1951 and mapped as part of the English Heritage: Hoo Peninsula Landscape Project.

Full Description

A Second World War bomb crater visible as a water-filled earthwork depression with a diameter of c.11.5m seen at TQ 7399 7915 within a large low-lying field on Cliffe Marshes. This site was mapped from 1951 RAF aerial photographs as part of the English Heritage: Hoo Peninsula Landscape Project. The remains of the crater could still be seen as a sub-circular water-filled pond on aerial photographs taken in 2009. (1)
