Summary

The slight earthworks of a possible post medieval drain and flanking bank can be seen on aerial photographs taken in 1947. This drain is situated north west of Marshgate. The drain is disused and is not marked on the 1872 Ordnance Survey map; it has since been levelled. This site, which represents an earlier subdivision of the marshes, was mapped from aerial photographs as part of the English Heritage: Hoo Peninsula Landscape Project.

The slight earthworks of a possible post medieval drain and flanking bank can be seen on aerial photographs taken in 1947. This drain is situated north west of Marshgate at TQ 7567 7635. The drain is disused and is not marked on the 1872 Ordnance Survey map; it has since been levelled. This site, which represents an earlier subdivision of the marshes, was mapped from aerial photographs as part of the English Heritage: Hoo Peninsula Landscape Project.(1-2)
