Full Description
A Second World War anti-aircraft gun emplacement and associated buildings can be seen on aerial photographs taken in 1950. This site was situated on the south side of a copse south east of Hoo Lodge and was centred on TQ 7739 7143. It was first visible on aerial photographs taken in 1942 and consisted of four buildings and a single emplacement centred on TQ 746 7142. By 1950 all but one of the buildings and the emplacement had been demolished. These had subsequently been demolished and all that is visible on aerial photographs taken in 2011 are small areas of concrete hard standing. This site was mapped from aerial photographs as part of the English Heritage: Hoo Peninsula Landscape Project.(1-3)
