Summary

The cropmark traces of an incomplete rectilinear enclosure of uncertain date (possibly later prehistoric) seen at the eastern edge of the field adjoining Courtsole Farm, Cliffe. The enclosure is defined by a single ditch and measures c.29m N-S and 13m across before being lost at the edge of the field. A ditch extends from the north-western corner which may represent an annexe to the enclosure. This site was mapped from aerial photographs taken by English Heritage in June 2011 as part of the English Heritage: Hoo Peninsula Landscape Project.
