Full Description
A section of undated cobbled path was recorded during a watching brief at Scotney Castle in 2017. The path is located beneath a tarmac road and was exposed as a result of damage from traffic. It is visible on Ordnance Survey maps dating from around 1873 up to 1939, however the path may predate this period. Due to the direction of the cobbled coursing, it is suggested (1) that the path may exist beneath the entirety of the tarmac road. (1)
