Summary

Post-medieval structures and garden features were identified during a watching brief carried out at Knole House, Sevenoaks in 2010. Some of the structural remains probably relate to a greenhouse which is visible on historic mapping from 1871-1909 AD, and others may relate to a garden wall, some of which still exists at the site.

Full Description

Post-medieval structures and garden features were identified during a watching brief carried out at Knole House, Sevenoaks in 2010. Some of the structural remains probably relate to a greenhouse which is visible on historic mapping from 1871-1909 AD, and others may relate to a garden wall, some of which still exists at the site. Unstratified artefacts dating between the late 18th-early 20th centuries were recovered during the excavation. (1)
