Summary

A ruined building is present near the edge of a field on Cooling/Whalebone Marshes. The building comprised a L shaped structure with two rooms. It Is possibly an out-farm or shepherds hut, though there is no reference to the structure on post medieval mapping of the area.

Full Description

A ruined building is present near the edge of a field on Cooling/Whalebone Marshes. The building comprised a L shaped structure with two rooms, the northern room measures approximately 6.5m by 6.5 m and the southern is 10m long by 4m wide. The remains of the walls are low along most of their length though some areas around the chimney stacks survive and the stacks themselves, (two in total, one for each room) appear to survive to their full original height. It Is possibly an out-farm or shepherds hut, though there is no reference to the structure on post medieval mapping of the area. (1)
