Full Description
A later post-medieval barn is located to the north of Knole House. Excavation in 2013 revealed the presence of an earlier structure dating to some time during the 18th-19th century which was on the same alignment and made from a similar material to the existing barn.
Activity identified during the excavation included a possible linear feature, a series of occupation dumps, and demolition deposits. Artefacts recovered from the excavations included a later post-medieval pottery, residual medieval and post-medieval ties, post-medieval slag, and animal remains (probably representing butchery waste).
