Full Description
A series of four late Iron Age to early Roman pits and one or two ditches were identified during a watching brief carried out at Cherry Lane, Great Mongeham by Canterbury Archaeological Trust in 2017. Finds associated with late Iron Age and early Roman activity at the site included pottery, flintwork, burnt daub, and animal tooth fragments. The features are likely to represent the continuation of a late Iron Age and early Roman farmstead identified 90m to the north west of the site (TR 35 SW 58). (1)
