Monument record TR 16 SE 323 - ?Bronze Age round barrow, west of Mayton Farm

Summary

The cropmark remains of a possible Bronze Age round barrow located to the west of Mayton Farm which was seen on aerial photographs. The site appears to be a ring ditch with a pale interior, possibly suggesting the survival of some of the mound material of this ploughed out round barrow. However, there appears to be some disturbance to the interior which may suggest some quarrying has taken place, perhaps casting doubt on the nature of the interpretation of the main ring ditch and inner mound remains.
